In one of my early design classes, students were tasked with researching a designer and creating an informational packet.

I decided to create a book exploring the work of Eileen Tjan, a designer that I respect and admire. What started as a project for class quickly turned into one of my favorite explorations of letterform. Taking inspiration from Tjan’s work, I brainstormed various approaches to my book cover. In the final version, I carefully cut each letter out, adhered colorful acetate, and layered an abstracted piece of Tjan’s work behind it.
